Home Care Leaders in Fort Myers, Florida

Kevin Svagdis

Founder and Chief Motivator

Nurizon at Home® is built on a foundation of service. We provide the very best care to meet your emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs while empowering you to live and thrive at home.

Kevin Svagdis spent most of his career helping clients and his team members to live their best lives. It’s how he has managed high performance teams and it’s why he founded Nurizon at Home.

His devotion to caring for and serving people was first ignited as a 16 year-old, working in food service at a local hospital. From there he took on the first of many leadership roles, progressing through the hospitality ranks in acute-care hospitals. In 2004, Kevin was appointed president of one of the nation’s most successful senior living hospitality services providers, overseeing dining, environmental and plant operations services for more than 500 retirement communities in 38 states.

Without a doubt, Kevin has developed a deep passion for serving seniors and those who face cognitive or physical disadvantages. He’s seen first-hand how the right kind of care and support can overcome the barriers posed by isolation and limited mobility. He cares for his team as he expects them to care for their clients. And he motivates them with an understanding that independence – the freedom to make choices — is essential for growth. The Nurizon team is challenged daily to help clients nurture the social connections that lead to a full life.

With a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Kevin is a raving New England Patriots Fan who loves to play competitive softball and mentor young leaders from diverse backgrounds. He and his wife Melody live in Naples where they enjoy golfing, visiting the area’s beautiful beaches and volunteering for The Alzheimer’s Association. Their older daughter Amanda lives in Atlanta with her husband Jeff; daughter Nicole is a Business student at Arizona State University.

Elizabeth Perez-Vazquez, RN, CDP

Client Care Enthusiast

Liz took another path. Born and raised in Homestead, Florida, she found her purpose in nursing, specializing in geriatric care. Along the way, Liz gained invaluable expertise and credentials, including:

  • Managed a 200-bed skilled nursing facility
  • Oversaw two dementia units
  • Worked in acute care settings, including a Covid unit
  • Certified Assisted Living Facility Administrator
  • Earned IV and CORE Dementia Care certification
  • Trained to be a Certified Dementia Practitioner

Though her journey has taken her to a variety of care settings, somehow, she keeps circling back to the seniors who’ve inspired her work from the start – and to the team members charged with their care. As Nurizon’s Client Care Enthusiast, she keeps things exciting in onboarding, training, case management and performance. She plays an equally critical role in managing and developing healthcare partnerships to provide a broad spectrum of services to our clients.

Liz and her husband Eric are the proud military parents of a son (who’s currently stationed in Japan with the Air Force) and two teenage girls, who keep them busy and perpetually inspired. When she’s not jazzing up life for her family or clients, she’s designing and creating centerpiece cakes and confections for weddings and other spectacular celebrations.

Tracy Brady

Executive Director of Business Development

Tracy Brady’s career has been propelled by two overriding passions – helping seniors restore and advance the quality of their lives, while propelling the success of purpose-driven organizations. She has managed a wide range of recreational and therapeutic programs, energized new partnerships, served as the liaison with the medical community, and developed award-winning Purposeful Engagement programming. Tracy has served on numerous organization board’s aimed at enriching the life of seniors. She is a certified instructor for Specialized Dementia Care and Education and has attained a CDP certification, all of which testify to her personal commitment to this treasured population. Tracy has a unique background and energy and is perfectly suited to serve as Nurizon’s Executive Director of Business Development.

Having been called “the consummate elder care professional,” the work for Tracy,  is entirely personal. She believes that we have so much to learn from people who’ve blazed the path we’re all on and that too often our seniors are overlooked and under supported. Mid-career, she moved from New England to Florida to spend more time with her mother and to help care for her grandmother. She sought out providers who were trustworthy and shared her desire to enable her grandmother to live her best life.  On an Alzheimer’s Walk, she met Kevin Svagdis and soon knew that Nurizon at Home®  was one of a kind.

With two grown children, Tracy’s not the only member of her family dedicated to the wellbeing of the community.  Her daughter Taylor is an ER physician at a Florida hospital and her son Jared is now an Assistant District Attorney in Queens, New York.  When she can find spare time, Tracy enjoys being with her mom and grandmother, as well as her rescue puppy, and her grand-dog, Millie.
